The Wedemeiers | Fall Family Session in Clear Lake, Iowa

The Wedemeier family means so much to me. They were one of the very first families I photographed when I started my business, and they have trusted me to capture their family photos every year since. That kind of relationship truly means the world to me.

This fall session in Clear lake was a perfect reminder that family photos don’t have to be long or complicated to capture a beautiful variety of moments. In just a quick 30-minute session, we were able to create a full gallery of images for their family. Before the session, I scouted a location that would complement their outfits and bring out the warm fall tones of the landscape.

As a mom myself, I know how often we end up behind the camera instead of in front of it. These boys absolutely adore their mom, and it was so fun watching their personalities come out throughout the session. As kids grow and change, sessions naturally become a little more relaxed, which often leads to the most genuine smiles and natural moments. Those are always some of my favorite images to capture.
