Lifestyle Product Photography for Children’s Brands | Clear Lake, Iowa
I’ve been photographing Tyler and his family for years, from maternity sessions to newborn photos and family portraits. During one of their newborn sessions I mentioned that I also photograph branding and product work if they ever needed images for Charlie Golf Co. We recently photographed their newest Georgia-inspired collection as well, which you can view here.
Not long after, Tyler reached out about photographing several new products for the brand. They create golf bags and clubs designed specifically for kids, making it easier for families to introduce their children to a sport they can enjoy for years to come.
When I say these bags are quality, I mean it. I’ve followed their story from the beginning, but actually getting to handle the products during the shoot gave me a chance to see the craftsmanship up close. You can tell a lot of thought goes into how each bag is designed and built.
This session focused on creating a variety of images for their website, product listings, and marketing materials, including a major launch of their new Junior Golf Bags, along with several toddler bags and a special collaboration product.
Planning the Product Photography
Before the session we worked together to create a detailed shot list for each product. This included clean product images, detail shots, dropouts for website listings, and grouped product photos that could be used for marketing materials.
Having a clear plan allowed us to photograph each bag efficiently while making sure Charlie Golf Co had a full library of images ready for future use.

Launching the Junior Golf Bags
One of the biggest parts of this shoot was photographing Charlie Golf’s Junior Bags, designed for kids who have outgrown the toddler size bags. The new bags come in five different color options and are designed to pair perfectly with junior golf clubs.
For the launch we focused on creating a variety of images that could be used across the website and marketing materials. This included clean product photos, detail shots, and groupings that highlight the different color options available.
Product Photography for Toddler Golf Bags
In addition to the new junior bags, Tyler also had several toddler golf bags that needed updated product photos for their online listings. These bags are designed specifically for younger kids who are just getting started in the game.
For this portion of the shoot we photographed four different toddler bags, creating clean product images that highlight the details and construction of each one. One of those bags was a red, white, and blue design called The Patriot, which photographed beautifully and added a bold look to several of the product images.
These types of photos are essential for e-commerce listings because they allow customers to clearly see the product while keeping the overall look polished and consistent.
Sugarloaf Social Club x Charlie Golf Co.Collaboration
Another bag we photographed during the session was a special collaboration created between Charlie Golf Co and Sugarloaf Social Club. Charlie Golf regularly creates customized bags in collaboration with other brands, which makes these products especially unique.
For this portion of the shoot we focused on images that highlighted the design of the bag while keeping the overall look consistent with the Charlie Golf brand. These photos can give both companies content they can use across their websites, social media, and marketing.
Club Dropouts and Flatlays
When shooting products, I also like to include a few images with extra space around the product so brands have the option to overlay text for marketing graphics, advertisements, or website banners. With a little help from some fishing line, we were also able to create clean dropouts of the clubs during the shoot. With my background in graphic design, I try to plan for these things ahead of time so brands don’t have to worry about legibility or layout issues later on.
Children's Lifestyle Product Photos on the Golf Course
While we were working through the product list, we also had the chance to capture a few lifestyle images. My kids happened to be in golf lessons at the time, so we were able to bring the bags out onto the course and photograph them being used naturally.
These images add another layer to the brand’s marketing because they show the bags in real life instead of only as product photos. Lifestyle images like these are especially useful for social media, advertising, and website content because they help customers picture how the product fits into everyday use.
