Senior Photography | Clear Lake, Iowa
This summer’s weather was not for the faint of heart here in Clear Lake, Iowa. I lost track of how many sessions we had to reschedule because of storms, and Alivia’s session was no exception. After two reschedules, we finally had a date locked in… and then the derecho hit. Her family suddenly had over a dozen trees down across their property.
But here’s the part that speaks volumes about who Alivia and her family are: for two days straight, their loved ones showed up—working for hours to clear the damage so she could still have her senior photos taken at Clear Lake home, on the land that means so much to them.
If anyone deserves the spotlight, it’s this girl.
Alivia, you are such a beautiful soul—inside and out. Getting to know you during your senior session was an absolute joy. You radiate kindness, ease, and light, and it’s clear you’re a blessing to everyone around you.
One thing that stuck out to me was something her parents said over and over: “If she likes them, we’re happy.” As a mom myself, I know how hard it can be to release your own expectations so your child’s personality can shine through. But that’s exactly what they did. And Alivia showed up as fully herself—confident, genuine, and effortlessly beautiful.
This session was special in every way, from the meaning of the location to the determination it took to make it happen. And I’m so grateful I got to be part of it.
