Welcoming baby Bennett with a relaxed studio newborn session in Clear Lake, Iowa.

There's something incredibly special about watching a family's story unfold over the years. I've had the privilege of photographing the Bieber family through so many milestones, from their engagement and wedding to family sessions, and now welcoming baby Bennett into the world.


Walking into the studio with a family you've known for years always feels a little different. Everything is comfortable, relaxed, and familiar, and this session was exactly that.


At just one week old, Bennett was the perfect little studio guest. He slept through nearly his entire newborn session, giving us plenty of time to capture all of those tiny details that change so quickly during the first few weeks of life.

One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is that there's never any pressure or rush. We simply follow baby's lead, taking breaks whenever they're needed and allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, or extra snuggles along the way.


Partway through the session, Grandma brought Bennett's big sister, Bailey, to the studio after her afternoon nap. She was so sweet with her new baby brother, and it was fun watching her step into her new role as a big sister.

Since she was already dressed and in such a happy mood, we took advantage of the opportunity to capture a few updated two-year portraits as well. I always love when families can document another milestone while they're already in the studio.


One thing I always appreciate about photographing returning families is how relaxed everyone feels. By now, they know exactly how I approach newborn sessions. We move at baby's pace, take breaks whenever we need them, hand out snacks, have the occasional dance party for toddlers, and simply let the session unfold naturally. Those are usually the sessions where the sweetest moments happen.


Congratulations to the Bieber family on welcoming sweet Bennett. It has been such a joy documenting your family through so many different seasons, and I feel incredibly grateful to continue telling your story. Thank you for trusting me once again to capture another chapter for your family.
